Linklaters and Jones Day advised on RENK’s acquisition of David Brown Defence.
RENK Group AG has entered into a binding agreement to acquire David Brown Defence from Stellex Capital Management and Gear Bidco. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to complete in the fourth quarter of 2026.
RENK, a Germany-based provider of propulsion solutions for the military sector, is acquiring UK-based David Brown Defence, a specialist manufacturer of high-precision gearboxes for the naval and land defence sectors. The acquisition will strengthen RENK’s naval portfolio by providing access to major naval programmes in the UK, Canada and Australia, while creating operational and technological synergies and expanding long-term aftermarket opportunities.
