Freshfields, Moncey Avocats, Mayer Brown, Ropes & Gray Act On Charterhouse Capitals’ Acquisition Of Batibig

Freshfields, Moncey Avocats, Mayer Brown along with Ropes & Gray advised on Charterhouse Capital Partners’ acquisition of Batibig Group.

Charterhouse Capital Partners, one of Europe’s longest-established private equity firms, has entered into exclusive negotiations to acquire a majority stake in Batibig, a leading French B2B provider of emergency building repairs, maintenance and renovation services. Under the transaction, Charterhouse will partner with Batibig’s co-founders, Charles and Justin Bignon, who will reinvest in the business and continue to lead the company alongside the existing management team. The transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals.

Founded in 2005, Batibig has established a leading position in the French market, generating more than €500 million in revenue through its multi-service, multi-regional platform. The company operates a nationwide network of businesses across France, employs more than 2,000 people, and carries out over 300,000 interventions annually. Charterhouse intends to support Batibig’s next phase of growth by continuing its acquisition strategy, expanding its geographic footprint across France and internationally, and building a pan-European leader in building maintenance and emergency repair services.

Freshfields advised Charterhouse Capital Partners on the acquisition.

The team was coordinated by Partners Nicolas Barberis and Julien Rebibo, with Senior Associate Octavian David and Associates Jing Ye and Lucas Bernadet advising on the corporate aspects. Partner Stéphanie Corbière and Senior Associate Marie Jarrety advised on financing matters, while Partner Christel Cacioppo and Senior Associate Matthias Triolle advised on employment law matters.

Moncey Avocats advised the sellers, including Batibig’s founders Charles and Justin Bignon, minority investors EMZ Partners and Siparex, as well as the management team.

The corporate team comprised Partners Fabrice de La Morandière and Alexandre Bankowski, with Associates Vianney Birot and Pénélope Renard. The tax aspects were handled by Partner Frédéric Bosc and Associate Margot Bosc, while Partner Camille Cournot advised on employment law matters.

Mayer Brown advised Charterhouse Capital Partners in connection with entering into exclusive negotiations for the acquisition of Batibig.
