Linklaters, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, Skrine Act On $2.3B Green Financing For Airtrunk’s Data Centre In Malaysia 

Linklaters, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP and Skrine advised on US$2.325 billion Green Financing for Airtrunk’s Data Centre in Malaysia.

AirTrunk has secured the US$2.325 billion in green financing for development of its JHB2 hyperscale data centre campus in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

The financing, raised under AirTrunk’s Green Financing Framework, is supported by a syndicate of 30 local and international financial institutions and represents the largest green project financing for a single data centre in Malaysia and AirTrunk’s largest single-asset financing to date.

The transaction also marks AirTrunk’s first financing involving the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group.

The financing was led by 10 global coordinators: BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, DBS Bank, ING Bank, Mizuho Bank, MUFG Bank, Société Générale, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, HSBC and United Overseas Bank.

CIMB Bank, Clifford Capital Credit Solutions, IFC, National Bank of Kuwait and Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) acted as mandated lead arrangers, underwriters and bookrunners. Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, DBS Bank, ING Bank and HSBC also acted as green loan coordinators.

Linklaters advised the global coordinators, mandated lead arrangers, underwriters and bookrunners, as well as the green loan coordinators.
