Trilegal, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) and Touchstone Partners advised on Motilal Oswal Alternates’ INR 600 crore investment in Karam Safety.
Karam Safety Private Limited raised INR 600 crore from Motilal Oswal Alternates through its India Business Excellence Fund V. The transaction comprised a primary investment in Karam Safety and a secondary acquisition of shares from its existing shareholders.
Established in 1998, Karam Safety is India’s largest player in the fall protection and personal protection equipment segment, with vertically integrated manufacturing facilities across India, South Africa and Brazil and exports to more than 140 countries.
Trilegal advised Karam Safety and its promoters on the fundraise.
The Corporate team advising on the matter was led by Partners Amit Khansaheb and Abhishek Dubey and comprised Counsels Sarthak Sood and Ishita Sinha, and Associate Aditya Kaushik.
CAM advised Karam Safety Private Limited on the legal vendor due diligence undertaken in connection with the investment.
The transaction was led by Partner Mohit Gogia, with support from Principal Associate Anisha Dash, and Associates Aashna Gupta, Swathi Kathi, Krishanu Paul and Anika Natani.
Touchstone Partners advised Motilal Oswal Alternates, the private equity arm of the Motilal Oswal Group, on its investment in Karam Safety through its India Business Excellence Fund V.
