Trilegal, AZB Advised On Carlyle Group’s Acquisition Of Majority Stake In Nido Home Finance

Trilegal along with AZB & Partners advised on Carlyle Group’s acquisition of a majority stake in Nido Home Finance for ~INR 2,100 crores.

The investment will support Nido’s continued growth in the affordable housing and mass-market segments, enabling product innovation, expansion of distribution channels, and strengthening of its market position in India’s housing finance sector.

The investment comprised a combination of a secondary purchase of equity shares from existing shareholders — Edelweiss Financial Services Limited, Edelweiss Rural & Corporate Services Limited, and Edel Finance Company Limited — and a primary subscription to equity shares and warrants of Nido. The transaction values Nido at approximately INR 2,100 crores.

Trilegal advised CA Sardo Investments, an affiliate of The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG), on its acquisition of a strategic majority stake of approximately 73% in Nido Home Finance Limited (“Nido”), alongside the family office of Aditya Puri, former MD & CEO of HDFC Bank.
