Khaitan, SAM Act On Bajaj Electricals’ Acquisition Of Morphy Richards Brand Rights

Khaitan & Co and Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (SAM) advised on Bajaj Electricals’ INR 141.4 crore acquisition of Morphy Richards brand rights.

Bajaj Electricals has acquired the Morphy Richards brand and associated intellectual property rights from Glen Electric for INR 141.4 crore.

The transaction involves a multi-jurisdictional intellectual property assignment, including trademarks, domain names and social media accounts, across India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

Khaitan & Co advised Bajaj Electricals Ltd on the acquisition of the Morphy Richards brand and associated intellectual property rights.

The core team comprised Nishad Nadkarni and Riya Karkera.

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas advised Glen Electric Limited, part of the Glen Dimplex Group, Ireland, on the sale of the Morphy Richards brand and related intellectual property rights.

The transaction team was led by Partner Apoorva Murali, along with Associate Anshika Chadha.
