Agnès Dunogué Joins Freshfields As Co-Head, US Securities & Shareholder Litigation Practice

Global law firm Freshfields announced yesterday that Agnès Dunogué joined as a partner and co-head of the U.S. Securities and Shareholder Litigation practice. She’ll join co-head Meredith Kotler in leading the practice group.

Based in New York, Agnès has a long and successful track record of representing both issuers and global financial institutions in some of the most complex and high-stakes securities matters. She is a leading litigator whose practice spans high-stakes securities class actions, complex commercial litigation, and regulatory investigations.

U.S Managing Partner Sarah Solum stated, “Agnès is a top tier securities litigator who will further enhance our offering for public company clients and financial institutions and further cement the reputation of our leading securities and shareholder litigation team. For executives and boards, it is critical to turn to teams that bring knowledge and expertise across multiple disciplines to help them navigate their most strategic opportunities and risks, in making disclosures to the public markets and in managing and supervising the affairs of public companies. Agnes will be an invaluable addition to our offering for public companies.”

Co-head of Securities & Shareholder Litigation Mary Eaton added, “I’ve had the privilege of litigating in the same securities space as Agnès for a number of years. She is a well-known, well-respected securities litigator and brings a wealth of experience and expertise. We are thrilled that she is joining the team. She will be a key driver in the next phase of the team’s growth in the U.S.”

Agnès is ranked in Chambers USA in Securities Litigation and is recognized as a “Leading Partner” in The Legal 500 in Securities Litigation Defense, among other accolades.

Agnès noted, “Freshfields has an extraordinary broad strategic risk approach and a cross-practice team across the globe that is beneficial to clients. The opportunity to add my expertise and experience into a successful, and still growing, practice makes it an exciting place to join and make an impact.”

Freshfields’ U.S. Securities and Shareholder Litigation practice is ranked among the leading law firms for securities and M&A litigation by Chambers, Legal 500 and Benchmark Litigation. Most recently, the team was named Securities Litigation Firm of the Year by Benchmark Litigation U.S. Awards (2025), the second time they have won this award (2023).
