A&O Shearman and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) advised on the USD 53 million finance for Sistema.bio’s FarmCarbon.
Sistema.bio has launched FarmCarbon, a carbon financing platform designed to scale access to biodigesters that convert agricultural waste into renewable energy and organic fertilizer. The platform is backed by an investment of approximately USD 53 million from BNP Paribas Asset Management Alts, British International Investment plc and Shell Foundation.
FarmCarbon aims to finance the deployment of over 90,000 biodigesters globally, reducing methane emissions and generating carbon credits through a pre-financing model. The platform is initially being rolled out in India, with plans to expand across Asia and Africa.
A&O Shearman advised Sistema.bio on the establishment of the FarmCarbon platform.

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) advised Buen Manejo Del Campo India Private Limited (Sistema India) on Indian law aspects of the transaction.
