AZB & Partners and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) advised on fiscal incentive support for SiCSem’s semiconductor fabrication facility in Odisha.
SiCSem Private Limited, a step-down subsidiary of Archean Chemical Industries Limited, has received fiscal support from the Indian Semiconductor Mission for establishment of India’s first compound semiconductor (SiC) fabrication and assembly, testing, marking and packaging (ATMP) facility at Info Valley, Khordha, Odisha.
The facility will have a committed capacity of 5,000 wafer starts per month for SiC fabrication and 8 million units per month for SiC ATMP. The total estimated project cost is approximately INR 2,000 crore.
AZB & Partners acted as legal counsel to the Indian Semiconductor Mission and Deloitte in connection with the grant of fiscal incentives to SiCSem Private Limited.
The transaction was led by Partner Mallika Anand and Associate Tanishq Khandelwal.
Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advised SiCSem Private Limited in relation to availing fiscal support from the Government of India pursuant to the Fiscal Support Agreement entered into with the Indian Semiconductor Mission.
