Cleary Gotlieb, AZB, Baker McKenzie Act On CMA CGM’s $1.4B Acquisition Of FedEx Supply Chain

Cleary Gottlieb, AZB & Partners and Baker McKenzie advised on CMA CGM’s USD 1.4 billion acquisition of FedEx Supply Chain.

CMA CGM Group has agreed to acquire FedEx Supply Chain, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp., at an enterprise value of USD 1.4 billion. Upon completion, FedEx Supply Chain’s network and nearly 10,000 team members will be integrated into CEVA Logistics, a CMA CGM subsidiary, further strengthening CEVA’s contract logistics capabilities across North America.

The acquisition would nearly triple the size of CEVA Logistics’ North American contract logistics operations. The combined entity would operate approximately 150 warehouses, expanding CEVA’s overall presence in North America to a combined workforce of 20,000 people located at more than 240 locations.

Following the execution of the transaction, CMA CGM and FedEx also expect to enter into multi-year commercial agreements relating to ocean freight and air cargo services. CMA CGM is expected to become a preferred ocean carrier for FedEx under a non-exclusive agreement, while the companies will collaborate on select air cargo capacity solutions to enhance their respective global networks, aircraft utilisation and long-haul capacity flexibility.

The transaction is expected to close in 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.
