Linklaters, Paul, Weiss, Slaughter & May Advised On Apollo’s $6.5 Bn Investment In Ørsted’s Hornsea 3

Linklaters, Paul, Weiss Slaughter and May advised on Apollo Infrastructure’s $6.5 billion investment in Ørsted’s Hornsea 3 world’s largest offshore wind farm project.

Hornsea 3 is currently the world’s largest offshore wind farm and will produce enough electricity to power more than 3 million UK homes, a significant step toward the UK’s energy transition agenda.

Linklaters has advised Apollo-managed funds on their agreement to invest in a 50% stake in Ørsted’s Hornsea 3, the world’s largest offshore wind project. Upon completion, the 2.9GW Hornsea 3 Offshore Wind Farm Project will generate enough low-cost, renewable electricity for more than 3 million UK households.

The Hornsea 3 transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and anticipated to close before year-end 2025. The Apollo-managed funds are expected to invest approximately $6.5 billion.

Slaughter & May advised Ørsted on its agreement to divest a 50% stake in Hornsea 3 to Apollo-managed funds investing c.$6.5 billion. Closing expected by the end of the year, subject to regulatory approvals. This landmark deal was led by Azadeh Nassiri, supported by Mike Corbett and Oliver Moir.
