Weil, Gotshal and Manges LLP along with POTAMITISVEKRIS advised Blackstone on the acquisition of majority stake in Skroutz from CVC.

Blackstone, through funds managed by its private equity business, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a majority stake in Skroutz from CVC Capital Partners.

Founded in 2005, Skroutz is a leading e-commerce platform in Greece, offering more than 12 million products from approximately 9,000 merchants to around 2.5 million active users.

As part of the transaction, Skroutz’s founders will sell a portion of their shareholding while retaining a stake in the business and continuing to lead the company.

Weil, Gotshal and Manges LLP advised Blackstone on the acquisition.

The Weil team was led by Marco Compagnoni and Lewis Blakey, supported by Arisa Manawapat, Ronan Craig and Nicole Walker. Tax advice was provided by Oliver Walker and Enda Kerin.

POTAMITISVEKRIS advised Blackstone on Greek law aspects of the transaction.
