Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP has added former National Basketball Association lawyer Morgan Schusterman as counsel in our growing Entertainment, Sports & Media practice. Morgan advises leagues, teams, investors, and media companies on high-stakes disputes, arbitrations, investigations, governance, and non-contentious commercial matters. She also represents public companies and boards of directors in sensitive internal investigations and commercial disputes.
Prior to joining Weil, Morgan served as Associate Vice President and Senior Associate Counsel at the NBA, where she represented the league and teams on a wide range of high-profile matters concerning league rules, including salary cap circumvention, tampering, free agency timing, game protests, trade demands, conduct and statements detrimental, player health and participation, game integrity, expansion, name image likeness (NIL), and institutional investment. She also represented the NBA in connection with collective bargaining and the league’s national broadcast deals.
Prior to joining the NBA, Morgan worked at another global law firm.
Morgan received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and her B.A., summa cum laude with honors, from New York University.
