John Schneider has joined Ropes and Gray’s finance practice group as a Counsel in the New York office. He represents lenders, institutional investors, borrowers, sponsors, underwriters, and asset managers in a broad range of financing transactions.
With particular experience in securitizations, warehouse credit facilities, fund finance, direct lending, and restructurings, John uniquely leverages his combined structured finance, private credit and bankruptcy experience to provide comprehensive and strategic counsel to clients in navigating the complexities of the financial landscape.
John has represented clients in asset-backed securitizations across a variety of asset classes, including structured settlements, litigation advances, home improvement loans, life settlements, personal annuities, timeshare loans, and equipment leases.
Additionally, John has represented lenders, borrowers and sponsors in corporate finance transactions, including acquisition financings, refinancings, asset-based lending, and restructurings.
John’s restructuring and bankruptcy practice includes representing debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, creditors’ committees, and securities class action litigants in Chapter 11 matters, including numerous insolvency proceedings filed in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. He has also served as counsel to Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustees in asset cases of varying complexity.
