AZB & Partners and Spice Route Legal advised on Baby Memorial Hospital Limited’s (BMH) acquisition of a majority stake in Unimed Health Care Private Limited, which operates Star Hospitals, for approximately INR 1,600 crore.

Baby Memorial Hospital (BMH), a KKR portfolio company, acquired the majority stake in Star Hospitals, a leading Hyderabad-based multi-specialty hospital chain offering a comprehensive range of advanced medical and surgical services across specialties including cardiology, oncology, neurology, gastroenterology, nephrology, orthopedics, critical care, organ transplantation and minimally invasive surgical procedures.

The transaction represents a significant milestone in the consolidation of India’s healthcare sector and strengthens Baby Memorial Hospital’s presence in southern India.
