Khaitan, JSA, TT&A Act On Viatris’ Divestment From Biocon

Khaitan & Co, JSA and Talwar Thakore & Associates (TT&A) advised on Viatris’ INR 3,680 crore divestment of Biocon stake.

Viatris, through its subsidiary Mylan Inc., completed the secondary sale of its entire shareholding in Biocon Limited for an aggregate consideration of approximately INR 3,680 crore, marking its complete exit from the company.

The transaction involved the sale of 91,967,019 equity shares through the screen-based trading platforms of the BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited. Jefferies acted as the placement agent, while Citigroup Global Capital Markets Inc. Acted as the broker for the transaction.

Khaitan & Co advised Viatris on the divestment of its stake in Biocon.

The Khaitan & Co team was led by Rabindra Jhunjhunwala, Chirayu Chandani, Abhishek Dadoo, Aman Anand, Gaurang Mansinghka, Hrithik Khurana and Nitya Saxena.

JSA advised Jefferies, the placement agent, in connection with the divestment of Biocon shares by Mylan Inc.

The JSA Capital Markets team was led by Lead Partner Arka Mookerjee, with support from Partner Pracheta Bhattacharya and Principal Associate Arjun Rastogi.

TT&A advised Citigroup Global Capital Markets Inc., which acted as the broker in relation to the sale of the Biocon shares.

The TT&A team comprised Partner Abhinav Kumar, Managing Associate Shubham Sancheti, and Senior Associate Abhishek Iyer.
