Khaitan & Co and SNG & Partners advised on Godrej Finance’s acquisition of Kanakadurga Finance’s gold loan business.
Godrej Finance Limited has acquired the gold loan business of Kanakadurga Finance Limited, marking Godrej Finance’s entry into the gold loan segment and strengthening its presence in the consumer finance sector.
The acquired business comprises a gold loan portfolio of approximately INR 280 crore in assets under management, serving nearly 12,000 customers through 54 branches across Andhra Pradesh, with a team of approximately 250 employees.
Khaitan & Co advised Godrej Finance on the acquisition.
The deal team comprised Shishir Vayttaden and Aditi Singhvi, Pragyansh Nigam and Bhaskar Vishwajeet.
SNG & Partners advised Kanakadurga Finance and its promoters on the transaction.
The transaction was led by Partner and Head – Financial Services Aditya Vikram Dua and Associate Partner Sagar Devgan, with strategic inputs from Counsel Devyani Dhawan. The team also comprised Senior Associate Eesha Govilla and Associate Arjun Khanna.
