CMS INDUSLAW has announced that Mehak Oberoi will be joining as a Partner in the Firm’s Infrastructure & Projects and Construction team. She will be based out of the Firm’s Delhi & NCR offices.
Mehak is a construction law specialist with nearly two decades of experience advising on complex EPC projects, FIDIC-governed contracts, cross-border transactions and disputes across the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors in the Asia-Pacific region. She is also India’s first trained and certified woman construction mediator
Her practice spans the entire project lifecycle, including project strategy, complex contractual negotiations, risk allocation, claims and dispute avoidance, international arbitration, construction, mediation and board-level governance. She brings a distinctive combination of deep sector expertise, legal strategy and commercial insight developed through nearly two decades of advising on major infrastructure and energy projects.
Mehak’s professional recognitions include the Hall of Fame for General Counsels 2025, BW Legal World’s Elite Club of Future Masters 2024 (40 Under 40), the Rising Star Award by the UK-India Legal Partnership, the Woman Excellence Award and the Phenomenal SHE Award. A frequent speaker on construction law, arbitration and the evolving role of in-house counsel, Mehak serves on the Board of the Society of Construction Law, India. She is a member of the ICC Institute of World Business Law, the IAMC Steering Committee and CII’s ESG and Climate Change SubCommittee. She is also an empanelled mediator with IAMC and the Construction Industry Arbitration Council.
Mehak is the author of Constructive Counsel: Construction Law Explained and Construction Mediation: A Practical Handbook, India’s first sector-specific book dedicated to construction mediation. Her writing focuses on construction law, dispute resolution and project risk management, with an emphasis on translating complex legal and contractual issues into practical guidance for industry professionals.
She is also the Founder of ConstructHER Legal Network, an international practitioner-led platform with a presence across seven jurisdictions, focused on advancing women in construction, infrastructure and energy law.
Prior to joining CMS INDUSLAW, Mehak served as Legal Head – Hydro, Asia-Pacific at GE Vernova, where she led end-to-end legal strategy across the project lifecycle and advised commercial leadership and boards on governance, regulatory risk, joint ventures, restructuring and major capital transactions. She previously held legal roles across GE’s renewable energy, transportation, manufacturing, grid solutions and oil and gas businesses.
