Freshfields has advised Hayfin Capital Management as a senior lender in connection with a senior / super senior refinancing of the existing indebtedness of Kalle Group by way of €165m and $137m multi-currency loans. The parties agreed not to disclose any further details on the financing.
The Kalle Group is a portfolio company of the private investment firm CD&R. It was founded in 1863, has around 1,500 employees worldwide and is one of the world’s leading suppliers of industrially produced casings and sponge cloths.
The Freshfields team was led by Partner Michael Josenhans and Associate Aleksandar Djurdjevic (both Frankfurt) and also included: Counsel Alexander Pospisil (Frankfurt/Berlin) and Anouschka Zagorski (Frankfurt), Principal Associate Matthis Grenzer (Berlin/Frankfurt) and Associate Thilo Köhler (Frankfurt, all Leveraged Finance). Freshfields offices in the US and the Netherlands, along with our StrongerTogether firm Elvinger, Hoss et Prussen in Luxembourg also advised the senior lender as local counsel.
