Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer (HSF Kramer), Clayton Utz, and MinterEllison advised on the acquisition and finance of Windlab’s Gawara Baya wind project by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).

Windlab’s Gawara Baya wind energy project in North Queensland received $1.7 billion in project financing and was acquired by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), acting on behalf of Copenhagen Infrastructure V. The project comprises a 408 MW onshore wind farm and a 104 MW battery energy storage system and is one of the largest east coast wind projects to reach financial close under Australia’s Capacity Investment Scheme.

Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer advised Windlab on procurement, project financing and the sale.
