Khaitan & Co along with JSA advised on Reliance Consumer Products’ acquisition of majority stake in Udhaiyam Agro Foods.

Udhaiyam, a Chennai-based Indian food processing brand, is engaged in the manufacture and distribution of staple food products. The transaction involves the divestment of a majority stake by Udhaiyam and its promoters to Reliance Consumer Products Limited.

Khaitan & Co advised Reliance Consumer Products Limited on the acquisition.

The deal team comprised Purti Minawala, Ayush Nanda, Dnyaneshwari Chincholikar, Priya Maharishi and Prerna N Hegde, with assistance from Deepak Kumar (Employment Law), Amit Wadhwani, Harsh Parikh and Kartik Kumar (Real Estate), Shailendra Bhandare (Intellectual Property) and Mihika Jalan (Dispute Resolution).

JSA advised Udhaiyam and its promoters on the divestment of the majority stake to Reliance Consumer Products Limited and acted on all aspects of the transaction, including structuring, negotiation, and finalisation of the definitive agreements.
