Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (SAM), Sidley Austin, Trilegal along with White & Case advised on Brookfield India Real Estate Trust’s (Brookfield India REIT) qualified institutional placement (QIP) of units aggregating INR 3,500 crore (approximately US$390 million) to fund the acquisition of Ecoworld, a 48-acre, 7.7-million-square-foot Grade A office campus on Bengaluru’s Outer Ring Road.
The offering was more than three times oversubscribed, drawing robust demand from domestic and global institutional investors. Following the acquisition of Ecoworld, Brookfield India REIT’s operating portfolio will exceed 32 million square feet, and its gross asset value will surpass US$6 billion, positioning it among the largest REIT platforms in India and Asia.
SAM advised Brookfield India Real Estate Trust. The Capital Markets team was led by Partners Nikhil Naredi and Rohit Tiwari, along with Senior Associate Harini J, and Associates Mathangi K, Abhit Tanay, with inputs from Associate Veronica Miranda.
