The transaction forms a part of a broader capital and business alliance between Japan Post and Logisteed, aimed at strengthening global logistics capabilities. India was the only jurisdiction worldwide that required a merger filing for this transaction.
Trilegal successfully represented Japan Post Co., Ltd. (Japan Post) in securing an unconditional approval from the Competition Commission of India (CCI) pertaining to its proposed acquisition of 19.9% equity stake in LOGISTEED Holdings, Ltd. (Logisteed) for a deal value of approx. USD 932 million.
The Trilegal competition team advised Japan Post on Indian competition law aspects, including merger control advisory and filing before the CCI.
