Talwar Thakore & Associates (TT&A), Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (SAM) and Argus Partners advised on Artal Asia’s INR 532 crore investment in Popo Global.
Popo Global, a Bengaluru-headquartered multi-brand restaurant company operating The Pizza Bakery, Paris Panini and Smash Guys, received a minority equity investment of approximately INR 532 crores from Artal Asia Pte. Ltd.
The transaction represents Popo Global’s first external institutional capital raise, following a period of largely bootstrapped operations during which the business grew from a single Pizza Bakery outlet in 2017 to approximately 40 outlets across its three brands. The strategic investment is expected to support the continued expansion and scaling of its portfolio, while reflecting institutional investor interest in India’s consumer and QSR ecosystem.
Talwar Thakore & Associates (TT&A) advised Artal Asia Pte. Ltd. (of which Invus is the global investment advisor) in connection with the minority equity investment of approximately INR 532 crores in Popo Global.
The TT&A team comprised Joint Managing Partner Gautam Saha, Partners Sachin Mehta and Harshit C., Managing Associate Sinjini Majumdar, Senior Associate Kashish Singhal along with Associates Sangita Sharma and Vedangshri Vijay.
SAM advised Popo Global Private Limited (‘Popo Global’) and its Founders in connection with a strategic investment by Invus Group (Artal Asia Pte. Ltd.), in a transaction valued at approximately INR 532 crores.
The transaction team comprised Partner Navruz Vakil, Consultant Alena Nari Advani, Senior Associate Daksh Hemnani and Associate Vidhhii Shah.
Argus Partners also advised Popo Global and it’s founders.
