IndusLaw has announced a strategic partnership with Legitquest, India’s leading legal Generative AI platform, to integrate artificial intelligence into its legal workflows. This collaboration aims to enhance automation and efficiency across various legal domains, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to technological advancement.
Following an extensive evaluation process, IndusLaw has selected Legitquest to conduct a Proof of Concept (PoC) for an AI-powered tool. The solution will integrate customized workflows focusing on construction disputes automation, legal predictions, intellectual property claims, M&A and due diligence automation, and contract review. Additionally, the AI tool will streamline email and drive data integration, provide AI-powered chat assistance, and enable automated drafting.
Legitquest, a homegrown AI platform backed by investors such as Infoedge and Waterbridge Ventures, is competing with global players like Harvey AI, vLex, and LexisNexis. The platform boasts a robust database of over 400 million legal records, offering AI-driven legal research, litigation management, and contract review solutions. Among its key innovations is ZAIAN, an AI-powered legal assistant capable of real-time case law retrieval, document drafting, and contract analysis. Another flagship offering, LIBIL, specializes in AI-powered legal due diligence.
Commenting on the collaboration, Kartik Ganapathy, Founding and Senior Partner at IndusLaw, stated: “As we move from mere assistance using technological tools to purposeful augmentation and automation of our services, we selected Legitquest as one of the AI solutions to enable a continuous development of our service offerings and learnings. Being built out of India with a focus on the nuances of the region was certainly a tick box we were happy to mark. We look forward to a very active PoC phase, as we test the boundaries of what is possible in this space.”
Karan Kalia, CEO & Founder of Legitquest, highlighted the platform’s unique capabilities: “What truly sets Legitquest apart is the extensive time and effort we’ve dedicated to collecting and curating legal, regulatory, and compliance data—transforming it into actionable insights that others have overlooked. With billions of legal documents in vernacular languages and diverse court filing formats, the complexity of legal research increases significantly.
Imagine drafting a contract, creating pleadings, or even predicting a judgment based on the pleadings filed by both parties—while simultaneously identifying missing arguments, relevant case laws, or overlooked legal provisions. This level of intelligence adds immense value.
A crucial aspect of Generative AI is that while it can be built using any legal document, its true power lies in how effectively the data is leveraged. With 400 million records—and growing by a million each week—Legitquest uniquely integrates this vast dataset in real time with what users and clients specifically need, setting us apart in the industry.”
The partnership marks a significant step in leveraging AI for legal innovation, with IndusLaw and Legitquest poised to redefine legal service delivery through advanced automation and intelligent insights. As the PoC phase progresses, the industry will be watching closely to see how this collaboration shapes the future of legal practice in India.
