Global law firm Ropes & Gray announced that Paul Dali has joined the firm as a Partner in London, focusing on private equity and M&A.
Paul’s extensive experience in international M&A, with a particular emphasis on private equity and asset management M&A transactions boosts the firm’s ability to serve client demand for sophisticated private capital solutions across Europe. Leveraging the firm’s offices in London, Milan, Paris, and Dublin – which function as a single European hub – Paul will help deliver seamless service in collaboration with colleagues across the region, as well as in Asia and the US.
“Paul’s leadership in high-profile private equity and asset management M&A transactions strengthens our proven ability to provide the strategic advice our clients need, both across Europe and globally,” said Julie Jones, Chair of Ropes & Gray. “As private capital markets continue to mature and the asset management industry sees increased consolidation, exceptional talent like Paul ensures we have robust, on-the-ground capabilities in our clients’ most important markets.”
Paul joins Ropes & Gray from EQT Group, a global investment firm and Ropes & Gray client, where he served as managing director and group general counsel, M&A and Investments.
During his time at EQT Group, Paul led the acquisition of several asset management firms, including Baring Private Equity Asia and Exeter Property Group. Additionally, he has broad expertise in both private and public M&A, with a focus on private M&A buy-outs and take-private transactions. His experience also includes portfolio management, corporate governance, transactional regulatory matters, and fund formation.
“Paul’s deep sector knowledge and proven track record are a tremendous asset to our European private capital platform,” said Rohan Massey, Managing Partner of Ropes & Gray’s London office. “His experience puts us in an even better position to support the business goals of our clients. We are delighted to have him at the firm.”
“Paul is an incredibly talented transactional lawyer with experience that includes major asset management M&A deals and other complex cross-border transactions,” said Amanda McGrady Morrison, global co-chair of the firm’s private capital transactions practice. “His arrival further demonstrates our commitment to expanding our team with top talent and delivering best-in-class service to private equity clients.”
“I am excited to join Ropes & Gray’s outstanding team in London,” said Paul Dali. “Having worked closely with the firm as a client, I have seen firsthand the depth of talent, collaborative culture, and commitment to excellence that sets Ropes & Gray apart. I look forward to contributing to the continued growth of the firm’s private equity offering in Europe and working alongside a team that is truly dedicated to delivering innovative solutions for clients.”
Paul, who will be based in London, is the latest partner to join Ropes & Gray’s European practice, which continues to grow in response to increasing client demand for the firm’s cross-border expertise. His addition builds on the established strength of the firm’s European platform.
