Linklaters, Travers Smith Act On Refinancing Of Westermost Rough Offshore Wind Farm

Linklaters and Travers Smith advised on the refinancing of Westermost Rough offshore wind farm. WMR JV Investco Limited has successfully refinanced its existing indebtedness relating to its 50 per cent interest in the 210 MW Westermost Rough Offshore Wind Farm, located in the North Sea off the coast of Yorkshire.

Westermost Rough is a key UK offshore wind asset and the refinancing reflects continued lender appetite for high-quality renewable energy infrastructure. The transaction supports the ongoing development and operation of the project and enables optimisation of its capital structure. Independent shareholders in the borrower include leading renewable energy infrastructure developers and asset managers such as Equitix and Arjun Infrastructure Partners. The refinancing enables the Westermost Rough Offshore Wind Farm to optimise its capital structure and continue its critical role in supporting the UK’s clean energy transition.

Linklaters LLP advised WMR JV Investco Limited and the sponsors, including Equitix and Arjun Infrastructure Partners, in connection with the refinancing.

The team was led by Partner Richard Ginks, Managing Associates Arani Chakrabarty and Chathurika Ravindra. The structured finance and hedging (SFG) team advised on the hedging aspects of the transaction and was led by Partner Elisabeth Johnson, with Managing Associate Rohan Dhariwal and Associate Justyna Todd-Frankowska.
